Fixed Term

The Fixed Term (FXT) service enables users to lock assets in their Savings Account for a set period in exchange for fixed, predictable returns. Fixed Term offers higher potential returns than Flexible Term by requiring a commitment of capital for a specified duration.

During the selected period, the APR remains fixed, and the principal cannot be withdrawn unless the contract is canceled early and a penalty is applied. This structure ensures stability and predictable yields.

Fixed Term is available only for balances in the Qaay Savings Account. Assets in the Account Credit Line must be transferred to Savings before they are eligible.

Allocating funds to Fixed Term allows users to earn predefined returns while supporting Qaay’s liquidity pools and funding mechanisms. Users participate in profits generated within the ecosystem.

Supported cryptocurrencies, term durations, and APRs are reviewed and updated monthly by the Qaay Oracle. Once a contract is created, its rate and duration remain fixed until maturity.

APRs depend on the user’s Tier level. Higher Tiers receive higher return rates.

Only balances in the Savings Account are eligible for Fixed Term. Assets in the Account Credit Line must be transferred to Savings before allocation.

To create a Fixed Term contract, users select a supported asset, choose a time period, and specify the allocation Balance. The system verifies the available Savings Value before confirming.

Once confirmed, the principal is locked and cannot be withdrawn, swapped, transferred, or used for credit during the term. Contracts may be canceled at any time, subject to a Cancellation Fee.

Tier level affects the applicable APY, with higher Tiers unlocking improved return rates.

After confirmation, the allocated Balance is deducted from the Savings Value and recorded as an active Fixed Term position.

Interest accrues at the fixed APY and is credited to the user’s Savings Account on the 28th of each month. Users can receive interest in the same asset or in Qaay Token. Choosing Qaay Token adds a 2% bonus.

At maturity, the principal is automatically credited to the user’s wallet and becomes available for withdrawal or reallocation.

All lifecycle events, such as contract creation, interest distribution, early cancellation, and maturity, are recorded in the Transaction Registry as system-generated entries.

Fixed Term is intended for users seeking higher returns than Flexible Term. Locking assets for a set period reduces liquidity but increases yield.

Since supported assets, term durations, and APRs are reviewed monthly by the Qaay Oracle, users should regularly review available options before creating new contracts. Once a term is activated, its conditions remain unchanged until maturity.

Tier level is important for optimizing returns. Higher Tiers offer better APRs, making Tier alignment a key strategy for long-term earnings.

Early cancellation is allowed but incurs a Cancellation Fee. Fixed Term should align with the user’s liquidity needs and overall portfolio strategy.

Using Fixed Term strategically enhances predictable income, supports ecosystem liquidity, and improves capital efficiency within Qaay.
